Making sure your pet gets enough exercise to help ensure a long, happy life is important and there are a lot of great options available to help us as pet parents. We also want to make sure our pets are safe when we're not around to keep an eye on them.
Using an in-home camera so you can get a view of what your pet is up to while you're away from home is a great option. Some even include treat dispensers so you can interact with your pet from work! Nearly every community has dog walking services available too, so your pet can get both human social interaction as well as some needed exercise during the day. Costs can range from as little as $5 to $30 or more per visit, so consider the costs, along with the reliability and qualifications of the walker you choose. Some walkers offer "pack" walks for dogs, allowing your dog to interact with other dogs, and some even include trips to activity centers or dog parks where your pet can run and play off-leash.
Mobile apps are another great way to monitor activity levels. Some are available to be attached to your pet's collar, or to your smartphone so you can chart the miles you walk together. GPS devices are also available in case your pet manages to get away from your property or yard, making it much easier to locate them and return them safely home.
